Inspirations: My inspiration for this was from my friend Rebecca. She was one the people who helped me come up with the "flamat" (flamingo-rat hybrid). Another inspiration was my brother favorite snack, Goldfish cracker, flamingos eat fish, and rats eat cheese, so Goldfish were the perfect snack for the flamat, since they look like fish and taste like cheese.
Reflection: This was definitely a difficult process, because it was my first time actually using Adobe Photoshop. During DD1, I mostly used Adobe Illustrator for my work. But in the end, I'm definitely impressed on how well I did for a first try, it's not the best but it's looks pretty cool to me. |

Inspirations: My inspiration was definitely taken from Japanese culture/art, and 1000 yen dollar that has been remastered. On the front side of this traditional dollar (left), I used Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki, co-founder of Studio Ghibli, as an icon for Japan. The little Totoro in each corner of the bills are also a reference to Miyazaki and his work.
Reflection: I definitely improved on this project better than the last project. Though, I did have trouble with color and texture. The front is more neutral with little texture that you can just barely see, while the back is more textured and more vibrant, plus it's a little bit darker than the front side. |
